Shannon Westphal

My approach is rooted in a bottom-up perspective, striving to understand what makes each individual unique in their strengths and challenges. My passion for this work is energized by empowering individuals to find healing and enhance their lives into what they wish them to be.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. My undergraduate experience involved working with children, families, and aging populations within hospice care, domestic abuse shelters, and child protection services. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2020 with a Master’s Degree in Social Work concentrating on Clinical Mental Health. My graduate experience involved working in an outpatient setting providing individual and group clinical mental health treatment.

My clinical experience involves serving children, adolescents, and adults through individual and group therapy. My approach is to empower individuals and families to use their strengths and resources to grow, heal, and find liberation in their lives.

I utilize strength-based, solution-focused, mindfulness-based, and cognitive behavioral approaches to work collaboratively with each client’s individual goals. I am also trained and specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) treatment.
